Having taken steps to create spill contingency plans,
training is essential to ensure performance.
Unless spills are dealt
with properly they can very easily lead to a major incident. A small
spill of acetone in the laboratory can easily ignite causing a small
explosion.
A spill of flammable liquid in the yard may be ignited by a vehicle, stacker
truck, or even a static charge. A spill of pigment can be washed by rain
into the drains or river causing uproar amongst local residents, even if
there is very little potential for environmental damage!
“Major pollution problems can in many cases be
prevented if appropriate prevention measures are taken at an early stage.
Planning is the key to success, and both preventative measures and incident
response strategies need to be carefully addressed.” (Environmental
Agency.)
For this reason we pride ourselves on our after sales
training. We will provide your staff with the right training both in
the use of materials supplied and in common sense application in order
to help keep them safe and maintain good housekeeping standards on your
site
Our training will ensure that everyone is
? Aware of the correct spillage control procedures,
? Help prevent injury to persons
? Help prevent injury to the environment
? Familiarise staff with the equipment provided.
We aim to make sure that the first time your staff see
the contents of one of our spill kits it is not in anger. We ensure they
are familiar enough with the contents to be able to react quickly to
the situation.
All training can be certificated if required.
